People have asked me: why are you trying to save the world? Why would you waste so much time and energy on something you can't do, and I object. Anyone can do anything I say. You could save the world, why can't I? But still they say, it's a waste of your time. And I say, I like a good challenge, and at the very least I can change the momentum if I try my hardest, and what more is there for a good human to do? Of course I have indulged in myself, in my own pleasures, but I can never fully escape the worlds problems. Even if I can pass off my own, I am impotent to the sad truth that many whom I love are stuck working for a system which is completely corrupted by greed and layers of false information. Friends and family have advised me: you can't save the world, you've just got to find a way to be happy. But I know anyone can do anything and I prefer any amount of progress over bliss, and have spent much time pondering about how utopia would be, how I'd love to see the world, and how I might be able change it. Now I see how simple it can be. I see how strong our world is, we have all the tools. Everything is here, and the only problem is the reckless head, and we all know it. The head uses the body. Chop it off and learn to work without it so every cell may work for itself or together. Make the body the head, or have no head at all. Now I expect what you must be feeling after such charged words as "chop off." You are probably sensing some anger towards the reckless head, those with power. I imagine your emotions coincide. You may also be starting to doubt my maturity in grasping the situation, and rightly so seeing as I also imagine you think I want to fight, or battle, or take over with force. This is something that you are justified in assuming as I am human and am angry, but my logic supersedes my emotions(given time). I do not want to kill, I want to save. So I have come up with a completely peaceful list of steps on how to change the corrupt system of capitalism into mini government's of your tribes choice and no longer be powerless to being used as money slaves by evil, corporation owning, media brainwash controlling, lobbying, politically fraudulent bankers (see www.begood4us.org/bankers.html). If you still need a reason as to why you should continue reading, just realize that if you spread these ideas to any area you are helping save it. How is home? How about earth?
The theory of tribalism:
In short, tribalism is where you are friendly enough with you neighbor in a capitalist society that a cooperative community can be created (see www.good4us.org/tribalism_vs_communism.html). It is truly that simple. Peace. But seriously, Peace. Unfortunately, it can't work like that as long as there are greedy hands that stand between you and your neighbor. Just think of how much money is sucked from your home, your tribe of people who you care about (and if you don't care about them, realize their unborn children are still blank slates). If you give 10$ to Safeway, they give you 5$ worth of product and then they pay the employee about .05 $. That profit of 4.95$ is then leached out of your town, and never comes back (unless you get tourists), and because money is the lubricant of economies, and your area keeps having less and less, everybody stops paying for stuff and nobody can get anyone to pay for stuff. I always find it funny how people hold on to money tightest when it's losing value fastest, rather than spending it while it's good, but I guess the TV says so, so everyone else does too. But I digress. The point of tribal economics is to not send to your money to places from which it will never return, to be self reliant, and self sufficient. Like tribes. From the more subjective angle, it is about learning to get along with your neighbor.
The point of tribalism:
To give people a government that cares about them and tries to hear their voice, and help them by eliminating scarcity as much as possible. This is not totally possible as there are only so many amazing places to live, but things like scarcity of shelter, food, and drink can be totally eliminated, if everything is done correctly. This is the main focus of tribalism because not only will you no longer be scraping the barrel for life, you will most likely also end up with a dependable society.
Neo-tribalism:
We have technology now, there is no sense in throwing it away. The only difficulty will be finding your own ways of making electricity and connecting to the World Wide Web. These are completely surmountable steps, and will have to be done because technology is here to stay. Music, movies, lighting, the internet: all too good to lose.
The steps:
1) Edging
In this step you must become as positive of an influence on the debts of others as you can from within the current and corrupt system. Most importantly, you buy locally, which does not mean name brand Trader Joe's or Annie's Pasta. This means locally produced such as at the farmers market and your local grocery store. Secondary benefits include reducing miles traveled by food by about 3,000, along with tasting better, and being healthier. You should also start getting ready for your tribe by becoming as self sufficient as you can, learning a useful trade, and informing your public as to what you have to offer(see www.begood4us.org/trading.html).
2) Building
The focus of building is to organize your tribe so you have every position that is necessary for the self-sufficiency of your tribe occupied by members who are willing to trade or share only within their tribe with the assurance that their wellbeing will be secured by their tribesmen who will do the same for them. Unless you own your own land, you will also have to find someway of making the money you need to pay the man not to not kick you out, regardless of whether or not you are self sufficient. Another thing you must do to start building your tribe is trade mostly within it using things you've made/grown and, just in general, keep your valuables to it as much as possible. You need not worry about how far your tribe members are apart (though it would be nice if you could bike), seen trade amongst yourselves can be done from a distance. Continue building your tribe until you feel comfortable in your town, and most everyone is working together and part of a town tribe. Be diplomatic as well.
3) Splitting
This is the balls. This is were the people actually stand up against their owners, rather than just changing the way they spend their time/money. In this step, as functioning tribes, you refuse federal control (or anything but a fair democracy) and start a new government (see www.begood4us.org/fairness.html), with it's own money, education, health care, and protection(only). After this step, you will be free. You will no longer have to pay ridiculous debts, or for land that everyone feels is already yours, or be forced to follow unfair rules for the fear of a fine. Freedom. REAL freedom. Not the way politicians use it. Do-whatever-you-want-but-hurt-people freedom. No punishment for being human (unless you're greedy evil, in which case nobody should trade with you).
4) Merging
Easy, get along with other tribes until the world is just one people. Do not create gender, race, age, or any other sort of borders. It would be best to do this from the start.
Final note on grooming:
Always, always, always make sure to keep the rich not too rich and the poor not too poor. This is still a free capitalism in the end, and if you're good at what you do and making friends, you'll get ahead, but what keeps it together are the peoples morals(not laws). Groom your tribe. Try to make sure everything is fair and balanced, and don't worry. If you become self sufficient yourself, you will always have your own peace (see www.begood4us.org/self_sufficiency.html).
Please, as just a tiny favor for me, and everyone you know and love, and everyone you know and don't love, and everyone you just don't know, go to www.begood4us.org, print out a few more of these papers, and see if you can, in the very least, help improve mankind's currently negative momentum.
